You have at least a few years working with  teens and have been looking for an opportunity to develop programs focused on nurturing young minds and making a meaningful connection with middle and high schoolers. Student Ministries Director/Pastor

The overall responsibilities for this role will be to connect and minister with the teens and their families who attend RCC. You will need to develop a vision for middle school and high school teams, as well as communicate this vision well to all volunteers and families who are involved in the ministry.

Big Picture

  • Recruit, train, and care for teams of volunteers
  • Develop a 2-3 year plan for student ministries, including goals for outreach, events, and discipleship
  • Clearly communicate your plan with leadership, volunteers, and then to RCC teens and parents
  • Hold at least one main gathering once a week 
  • Hold at least one large, fun event each quarter
  • Assimilate teens into church-wide serving opportunities
  • Coordinate with Children's Ministries Director to offer events 1-2x a year that will equip families to create healthy homes and discipling environments
  • Research, select, and implement curriculum that aligns with RCC values and overall growth cycle
  • Oversee other administrative tasks related to Student Ministries, such as scheduling volunteers, creating or updating policies, maintaining a budget, and coordinating ministry supplies and spaces

Other Responsibilities

  • Pray at least an hour a week for Reading City Church
  • Pursue your relationship with Jesus by having regular devotion times
  • Financially support RCC through regular tithes and offerings
  • Embrace collaborating with RCC staff and filling in gaps with needs beyond the ministry's purview
  • Willing to teach/preach on a Sunday morning

Experience and Values

  • Minimum of 3 years in a role with a student ministry as a volunteer or paid staff
  • Enjoy developing teams and relationships
  • Able to lead, equip, and empower leaders
  • Feel called to serve children and teens
  • Some experience and comfort with speaking to a variety of audiences

Other things you should know...

Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
You will need to be available on most Sunday mornings.
